Look & Feel

Branding themes allow you to customise how your end-users see the device's user interface (outside of applications). This allows you to create a personalized experience for your users, and highlight your brand by changing the logo and colors displayed.

This feature requires Famoco Layer version 3.9.0 or above.

Permissions

The following list includes all permissions tied to this MDM section and the impacts they have on the MDM interface or the MDM API.

You can pick and choose these permissions when creating a new Custom Role or MDM API token.

Permission category - "Look & Feel"

Read (fms.branding.read)

  • What it does:
    • Access the Look & Feel page
    • See the Branding Theme filter in the Profiles page
    • See the Look & Feel section in the profile form

  • Where it applies: Look & Feel page (/branding).

  • What happens without this permission:
    • The Look & Feel page can’t be accessed.
    • The Branding Theme filter is not visible in the Profiles page.
    • The Look & Feel section is not visible in the profile form.

Create (fms.branding.create)

  • What it does: Allows users to create Branding Themes.

  • Where it applies: Look & Feel page (/branding).

  • What happens without this permission: The buttons to create Branding Themes are not visible.

Update (fms.branding.update)

  • What it does: Allows users to edit Branding Themes.

  • Where it applies: Look & Feel page (/branding).

  • What happens without this permission: The buttons to edit Branding Themes are not visible.

Delete (fms.branding.delete)

  • What it does: Allows users to delete Branding Themes.

  • Where it applies: Look & Feel page (/branding).

  • What happens without this permission: The buttons to delete Branding Themes are not visible.

Creating a theme

By clicking on the "+ New" button, a form allows you to create a brand new theme by picking 4 different colors and a logo. The preview on the right of the form helps you preview how your choices will affect the end result.

When creating or editing a Profile, the sub-section "Look & Feel" allows you to select which Branding Theme you would like to be applied on your devices.
