VAS (Value Added Services) SDK¶

Context¶

Wallet technology on smartphones is evolving everyday, especially for non-payment related items. Smartphones now often store:

Event tickets
Loyalty cards
Transit tickets and boarding passes
Health insurance cards
Student cards
Mobile driver licenses
and much more...

The two prominent protocols to read these passes are Google Smart Tap and Apple VAS. Both Google and Apple require devices that want to read passes stored on their devices to be certified, with Apple requiring specific hardware too.

Thankfully, Famoco has devices which are certified for these needs, and has software which allows you to simplify access to this technology (to read passes on both Android and Apple devices).

Solution¶

With our VAS (Value Added Services) SDK, you will be able to seamlessly integrate in your business app the functionalities to read passes stored on your user's devices, in the dedicated applications (e.g. Google Wallet, Apple Wallet, etc).

Famoco does not provide any functionalities to generate passes, we're strictly focused on providing hardware and software that allows you to read existing passes. Other companies have created complete setups in order for you to generate these passes and send them to your users.
